Kelly leading a guided wine tasting

Meet your host

Hi, I'm Kelly. I moved from the US to Europe, and I've been tasting my way across the world ever since.

I'm an American from North Carolina who has lived in Europe for 12 years. From Franconia's wine taverns to the hills of Chile and the estates of the Cape, I've spent years finding the places worth the drive, and the people who make the wine.

I know what American travelers want from a trip like this, because I wanted it too: beautiful places to stay, wine that tells a story, great food, and someone who has every detail handled.

Wine tours from Munich

Three countries of wine, all within reach of Munich.

Bavaria's own wine country is a day away, and Italy's SĂĽdtirol and Slovenia's wine hills make perfect two- or three-night escapes.

WĂĽrzburg & Franconia

Bavaria's own wine country. Historic cellars beneath baroque palaces, dry Silvaner from the round Bocksbeutel bottle, and a long lunch in a traditional wine tavern.

Slovenia's wine hills

Hilltop villages and cypress trees on the Italian border, family estates making Rebula and amber "orange" wines, and slow, generous lunches.

Wine tours from Frankfurt

Landing in Frankfurt? Germany's wine heartland starts at the airport.

Many flights from the US arrive in Frankfurt. Start your trip here, or end it with a few days among the vines before your flight home.

About 45 min

Rheinhessen

Germany's largest wine region: rolling hills, ambitious young winemakers and some of the country's most exciting dry Riesling.

About 1.5 hrs

Pfalz

Sunny and easygoing, with half-timbered villages along the German Wine Road, richer whites and serious Pinot Noir.

About 2–3 hrs

Baden

Germany's warmest wine region, on the edge of the Black Forest. Elegant Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc, and a remarkable restaurant scene.

Wine tours from Barcelona

Spain's great wines, starting in Barcelona: Cava and Priorat.

A day among the sparkling-wine cellars of Penedès, or a five-day journey into Priorat's dramatic slate hills.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know a lot about wine?

Not at all. Tastings are tailored to your level, from curious beginner to serious collector.

Can you plan around a cruise, business trip or Oktoberfest?

Yes. Pre- and post-cruise wine extensions from Barcelona and Frankfurt, and single days out of Munich, are some of my most popular requests.

Which city should I fly into?

Munich for Franconia, SĂĽdtirol and Slovenia; Frankfurt for Rheinhessen, Pfalz and Baden; Barcelona for Cava and Priorat. Not sure? We'll work it out together on our first call.

How far ahead should I book?

The earlier the better, especially for the most sought-after hotels and estates. Day trips can often be arranged at shorter notice.
